Larry A. Vocal, M.D. (Family Medicine)
Dr. Vocal has been providing outstanding medical care to families since 1975. He has been treating patients in the Bastrop area for over 16 years. He graduated from the University of Ottawa and completed his family medicine residency at Ottawa General Hospital and the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Canadian College of Family Physicians and has earned Fellowship status in both organizations. He serves as an athletic medical director in Bastrop as well as Medical Director for Advanced Home Health and Aseracare Hospice.
Outside the office, he enjoys gardening.
Pompeyo C. Chavez, M.D. (Family Medicine)
Dr. Chavez graduated from the Universidad de San Martin de Porres in Lima, Peru in 2001. He completed his family practice residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston from 2004 to 2007, where he served as Chief Resident. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP) and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Chavez presently serves as the President of the Bastrop-Lee County Medical Society; he is also the Medical Director for Bastrop Lost Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Resolutions Hospice, Guiding Hospice and Standards Home Health.
In his free time, he enjoys deep sea fishing, tennis, golf and spending time with his wife and his three children.
Juan Carlos Ortega, M.D. (Family Medicine)
Dr. Ortega is a medical doctor who has been in practice in Texas for over 15 years. Born in Ecuador, he attended The Universidad de Guayaquil medical school. He then moved to Texas and graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch in the Galveston Family Medicine Department in 2000. He holds a Fellowship in Sports Medicine as well. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Board Eligible in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Ortega joined Family Health Center of Bastrop in December 2013. He covers Bastrop Nursing Center, and serves as the Medical Director for Flatonia Oak Manor Nursing Home, Advanced Home Health and Aseracare Hospice.
Estela Mota, M.D. (Family Medicine)
Dr. Mota completed her medical school training at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she served as Chief Resident, and was also part of the Family Medicine Integrated Rural Training Track inaugural class. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP) and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). Dr. Mota is the Medical Director for Towers Nursing and Rehab Center, Resolution Hospice, Guiding Hospice and Robinson Creek Home Health.
In her free time, she enjoys ballet dancing and spending time with her family and her two Dachshunds.
Michael DiClemente, M.D. (Gynecology)
Dr. DiClemente is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist who specializes in Women's Health and Gynecologic care. He has been serving the residents of Bastrop, Lee and Fayette Counties now since 2013 and has been a member of the Family Health Center of Bastrop since February of 2016.
He was born in Johnson City, NY and lived most of his life in the northeast where he completed college, medical school and residency training. He moved to Central Texas in 2003 and during the last 13 years, has developed a great deal of experience in women's health.
He is happily married, has 2 daughters, 2 step-daughters and models his practice around what he would want for his own family members. That being said, he has worked hard to develop an office that is welcoming, informative and readily available.
Some of his special interests including hysteroscopy, advanced laparoscopy, and compounded hormone replacement therapy.
Ronald Cox, M.D. (Allergy & Immunology)
Dr. Cox earned his doctorate from the University of Kansas Medical School and went on to complete specialty residencies in internal medicine, allergy and immunology and diagnostic laboratory immunology. He is a published author and frequently lectures to the public. He is a member of the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology and the Joint Council of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Cox is personable and easy to communicate with. He treats patients from children to geriatrics and tests all his patients with a needle-free system. Outside the office, he enjoys boating and spending time with his family.
